Christopher Ellis is a rock n' roll guitarist and physicist from sunny San Diego. He's been playing acoustic and electric guitar for over 14 years and has a deep understanding of the hurdles that new musicians encounter. He loves to teach beginners the magic of using music as a tool of healthy expression and creativity, and hopes to provide his students with tailored, resilient learning styles so they can follow their musical interests far into the future. Christopher arrived in Reno to earn his Physics PhD at UN Reno after earning his bachelor's degree at UC San Diego in astrophysics. He spent two and a half years building ultra-cooled microwave- telescopes for the Simons Observatory in order to study the Big Bang and currently does research on theoretical dark matter and black holes! He loves doing science education outreach and loves to teach. Christopher is currently writing, recording, and producing his own music and regularly performs at local Reno venues.
