David Haskins is a violinist based in Reno, NV, but his education and performance have taken him internationally - he has given concerts and recitals all around the United States, and in Austria and Spain as well. His most recent orchestral and chamber performances were part of the AIMS Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria this past summer. An active chamber and orchestral player, Mr. Haskins currently performs with Reno Chamber Orchestra and the Reno Philharmonic and has also performed with multiple orchestras on the east coast, including the Symphony of the Mountains, the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra, and the Johnson City Symphony in Tennessee. Mr. Haskins also has an extensive repertoire of chamber music; he just completed two years with the Nightingale String Quartet at the University of Nevada, Reno as both violinist and manager, and has helped to pioneer other ensemble projects such as the Port City Chamber Players and the Jeunes Quintet. Mr. Haskins has been an avid teacher and ambassador for music since the start of his professional career almost ten years ago. He loves to teach and has taught students of all ages on both violin and viola. He loves classical music and opera but also plays fiddle and bluegrass and enjoys teaching and performing all styles of music.
