Jane started piano lessons at eight-years-old. Her teacher was music professor Mr. Carol Meyer at Boise State University. She attended college at Oregon State University, after graduation, she joined the national VISTA program and was sent to the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas to direct and teach young children in a low-income preschool program. Jane married in Boise, Idaho and moved to Reno, Nevada in 1973. She earned a second degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Nevada, Reno. While working on her master’s degree, her husband bought her a Kawai piano for her 28th birthday. She started teaching piano in her home emphasizing in good technique, theory, counting, and learning to play classical and modern music expressively. Jane holds many piano workshops in her home usually around holiday time. She holds annual recitals for her students and continues her professional career by taking on-line classes and private lessons with two teachers in Reno, Nevada.
