Jared Murphy is a drummer from Truckee, CA. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Percussion Performance from Chapman University in 2020. He played in the University's Percussion Ensemble, New Music Ensemble, Jazz Combo/Big Band, Wind Symphony, and Orchestra, as well as extracurricular ensembles with his friends. In 2021, Jared moved to Oma, Aomori, Japan to teach English for two years. Now that he's back in the States, he's excited to continue performing and teaching music.
Jared is interested in rock, pop, jazz, metal, noise music, and improvisation. He has played drums with various bands and singer-songwriters, and currently performs as a solo drums/voice/electronics artist. He is excited about learning what inspires you to make music, and helping you follow that inspiration in your own way.
His hobbies include hiking, reading, playing video games, going to the movie theater, and hanging out with his family. On the weekends, he enjoys drinking coffee and watching his favorite show, Twin Peaks, or catching up on last week's episode of Survivor with his sister.
