Jeff Tilley began his musical career over 50 years ago taking music lessons from his father, a Pennsylvania public school music teacher and has continued a life full of music ever since, even though he had (and still maintains) a dual passion for science. In 2012 Mr. Tilley formalized his music education by obtaining a Master’s of Music Degree at the University of North Dakota, and currently teaches K-8 music as well as collegiate level courses in the Tahoe Basin. Mr. Tilley is an accomplished educator with students at all levels and has worked in Lyon, Washoe and Churchill County schools as well as the Lake Tahoe Unified School District and several colleges and universities. As a performer and conductor, Mr. Tilley has extensive experience in the vocal/choral and piano arenas, with significant experience in upper brass, upper strings and world percussion instruments. He has served as a guest conductor for choirs in Nevada, Texas, Alaska, North Dakota and Georgia, and a guest pianist/organist/keyboardist in Nevada, North Dakota, Alaska and Pennsylvania. Mr. Tilley also has significant experience in Church Music and musical theatre, with 12 productions to his credit as either performer or choirmaster. Locally, Mr. Tilley has performed with the Reno Phil Chorus, Great Basin Carolers, TOCCATA, Masterworks Chorale and Orfeo groups, performing when it can fit within his very busy schedule.
