In regard to musical performance, as musicians we are not just merely reading notes off of a page.  We must learn to make music of the music. Feel the music inside of yourself and put that feeling back into the performance.  Interpret the music and try to make the audience feel the same way you as a performer do about that musical selection you are performing.
