Steve was born and raised in Pennsylvania and teaches piano, guitar. He received formal classical piano training for 9 years starting at age 8 and trained with some of the best jazz players in New Orleans in the late 1980's. Steve has traveled throughout America and Canada making a living playing piano bars and clubs from Key West to the Canadian Rockies. 

In 2001, a Montessori school asked him to teach private music lessons at their school. Steve appreciated the opportunity and offered to share the lesson revenue to help the small school raise money. Thus, the concept of Pacific Mist Music was born. Today, Pacific Mist Music partners with over 30 schools and creates job opportunities for over 50 music teachers each school year.  To date, Pacific Mist Music has raised and donated over $400,000 for schools in Reno, Nevada. 

In 2006, PBS approached Steve to write music for a nature program. That led to several other national PBS documentaries including the Emmy winning "Changing Seas" in its 10th season today. 
 
Steve's hobbies include sailing, motorcycling, building wooden boats. Venturing into the mountains or to the coast to fish, explore and just enjoy general meditative time!
