Drums, Percussion, Bass, Guitar, Piano, Recording and Live Sound Engineer
At an early age Steve studied drums with Gene Thaler, who connected him with Joe Morello (Dave Brubeck Quartet),
who taught him jazz technique. He learned to play funk from drummer George Brown (Cool and the Gang).
Steve has a
long history of working with many pro bands and musicians, such as Brad Gillis (Night Ranger), Danny Chauncey (.38
Special), Les Dudek (Stevie Nicks) and members of the Grateful
Dead.
Steve
honed his skills by learning piano, guitar and music theory, as well as building recording studios, producing, writing
and becoming a sound engineer. Steve's first professional live
sound engineer position was at the famous Omni in San Francisco.
Steve is currently playing bass in the band "Winter
Light". Teaching has given Steve the opportunity to pass on his musical knowledge to others.
