What age should my child start piano lessons?
Most children are ready to begin piano lessons around age 5 or 6. We've successfully started students as young as 4½ with the right teacher fit.
Do we need a piano at home?
Not to get started. A basic keyboard with at least 61 keys works fine for beginners. We can recommend affordable options after your child's first few lessons.
How long are lessons for kids?
We recommend 30-minute lessons for children ages 5–8, and 45 minutes for older or more advanced students. Weekly lessons build consistency and momentum.
How much should my child practice at home?
For young beginners, 10–15 minutes a day is plenty. We give parents simple guidance each week on what to focus on at home.
What if my child loses interest?
